Transpose chords

Type in a chord or chord progression and choose steps up or down to transpose the chord. Don't use lower caps letters!

General instructions

  1. Type in a chord, or a progression of chords, in the first field, C, Dm, Emaj7, F#7 etc. Obviously, it's not necessary to write extended chord names since only the chord note letter change in the transposition.
  2. Choose the numbers of steps up or down. Two steps equal one whole step.
  3. Click the "Transpose" button to see the chord transposed.
Notice that only upper case letters will work.

Instructions for changing keys

If you want to transpose from C major to D major, increase with 2 steps.
If you want to transpose from D major to E major, increase with 2 steps.
If you want to transpose from E major to F major, increase with 1 steps.
If you want to transpose from C major to G major, increase with 5 steps.
If you want to transpose from C major to Bb major, decrease with 2 steps.
